Patrick Stein
Decades inside large, long-lived codebases, finding the faults that appear on the fringes, only under load, on only one platform, or once in a million runs.
I co-led the first-line defect team on a safety-critical, national infrastructure upgrade, dug out dozens of bugs in large systems that seemed to defy the type-safety policies of the programming languages in use, and tracked down incompatibilities between operating systems and between library functions within an operating system that resulted in subtle bugs in well-tested, well-reviewed code.
I work under NDA, alongside your engineers and domain experts.
Beyond the debugging, I have a solid foundation in mathematics and physics and a long history of working between scientists and software—building the application a researcher needs or turning a scientist’s requirements into work a development team can act on.
Definition
eigenstate (n.) — a state in which a system has one definite, measurable value. The goal of every engagement: take a system that behaves like a superposition of possibilities and leave it in one you can observe.
